About The Role

We are looking for a passionate Engineering Manager (Backend) to join our technology team in Bangalore. In this role, you will lead backend engineering initiatives, build scalable systems and APIs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance and reliable solutions that support business growth.

What You’ll Do

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of backend engineers, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs alongside your team.
• Collaborate with product, frontend, and design teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Ensure high performance, reliability, and responsiveness of backend systems.
• Manage databases and server-side architecture to support application functionality.
• Maintain code quality through code reviews and engineering best practices.
• Drive technical strategy, explore emerging backend technologies, and guide adoption.
• Manage team resourcing, performance reviews, and career development.
  
  

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 13+ years of experience in software engineering, including 4+ years in engineering management or team leadership roles.
• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Framework.
• Experience with databases such as MySQL, Oracle, Redis, or MongoDB.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with distributed systems (AI experience is a plus).
• Proven track record of building and scaling high-performing engineering teams.
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and leadership skills.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Passion for building reliable and high-quality software.
