About the Role

A Performance Test Architect designs and implements strategies to ensure software scalability, reliability, and speed underload. They bridge development and testing, defining test frameworks, identifying bottlenecks, and promoting "shift-left" practices. Experts in tools like JMeter, they analyze complex systems and provide performance tuning recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and own the performance architecture strategy across applications and platforms.
• Design, script, and execute performance tests using JMeter (mandatory) to simulate real-world user behavior
• Develop scalable load models and define robust test data management strategies
• Establish performance benchmarks, SLAs, and KPIs across systems
• Analyze performance test results and provide deep insights with actionable recommendations
• Build and maintain real-time monitoring dashboards using Grafana
• Identify system bottlenecks (application, database, network) and guide teams toward optimized solutions
• Collaborate closely with engineering, DevOps, and product teams to embed performance early into the SDLC
• Drive performance best practices, frameworks, and reusable solutions across the organization
• Mentor junior engineers and lead performance engineering initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in performance testing/engineering, with exposure to architecture-level responsibilities
• Experience in performance testing strategies for front end and backend systems.
• Strong hands-on expertise with Apache JMeter (mandatory)
• Deep understanding of: 
  • Performance testing types (load, stress, endurance, spike testing)
  • Performance engineering methodologies and architectural patterns
• Proven experience in: 
  • Designing enterprise-grade load models
  • Creating scalable test data strategies
• Strong expertise in performance analysis, root cause identification, and tuning strategies
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
• Experience working in Agile/DevOps environments.
