Industry Applications: LNG Facilities, Data Centres, Edible Oil Tanks, Bulk Silos, heaters/furnace and Hydro-processing reactors of refineries.

Purpose Of The Position

The Proposal Engineer will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive quotations for temperature measurement solutions based on customer datasheets, drawings, and technical specifications. This role requires strong technical understanding of multipoint thermocouples and engineered temperature systems, combined with commercial acumen to support sales and project teams.

Main task

Description (responsibilities / Roles)

Quotation Development

• Analyse customer datasheets, P&IDs, and drawings to prepare detailed technical and commercial proposals.
• Select appropriate multipoint thermocouple designs and accessories based on application requirements.
  
  

• Prepare cost estimates for materials, manufacturing, and installation.
• Ensure competitive pricing while maintaining profitability and compliance with company standards.
  
  

• Interpret customer specifications and ensure compliance with industry standards (API, ASME, IEC).
• Coordinate with engineering teams for design validation and feasibility checks.
  
  

• Clarify technical queries and provide timely responses to clients.
• Support sales team during pre-bid and post-bid discussions.
  
  

• Prepare proposal documents, technical datasheets, and compliance statements.
• Maintain records of quotations and track proposal status.
  
  

• Qualification / Education
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical or related field).
• Working experience
• Minimum 4-7 years of experience in proposal engineering or technical sales for industrial instrumentation.
  
  

• Exposure to Oil & Gas, LNG or process industries.
• Familiarity with thermal profiling and engineered temperature solutions.
• Skills
• Strong knowledge of temperature measurement systems, especially multipoint thermocouples.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and process documents.
• Proficiency in MS Office and ERP tools for quotation preparation.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple proposals simultaneously.
• Willing to travel to Southeast Asia and Europe as required by business needs.
