Job Overview                          : The Assistant Chemist – QC Lab is responsible for sampling, testing, and analyzing materials to ensure product quality meets specified standards. The role includes operating laboratory equipment, maintaining test records, supporting process control activities, and adhering to quality and safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities Areas     :          

• Perform routine sampling, sample preparation, testing, and analysis of coke, raw materials, and finished products as per standard operating procedures.
• Support process control activities by coordinating with Production and providing timely analytical results.
• Monitor product quality parameters and report any deviations to senior laboratory personnel for corrective action.
• Operate laboratory equipment such as XRF, ICP, Proximate Analysers, Crushers, Furnaces, Ovens, Vibrating and Screening Equipment.
• Assist in calibration, maintenance, and verification of laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Maintain laboratory records, test reports, calibration logs, and quality documents accurately.
• Follow established quality procedures and support implementation of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System requirements.
• Assist in the application of Statistical Quality Control (SQC) techniques and basic quality improvement initiatives.
• Support SAP-QM activities including data entry, inspection results, and documentation.
• Implement and sustain 5S practices in the laboratory and workplace.
• Ensure compliance with RCCVL safety standards, work permit requirements, and safe laboratory practices.
• Participate in internal audits, quality improvement projects, and troubleshooting activities as assigned.
• maintain good housekeeping and ensure proper handling of laboratory chemicals, standards, and consumables.
• Work effectively in shifts and coordinate with laboratory team members to ensure uninterrupted laboratory operations.
• Demonstrate analytical thinking, attention to detail, learning ability, teamwork, and commitment toward achieving departmental objectives

Qualification                            :           M.Sc. Chemistry / B.Sc. Chemistry / Diploma in Chemical Engineering

Experience                              :           3 - 6 Yrs in Process Control and Laboratory
