Serve as the primary escalation point for complex integration issues, leading root-cause analysis, remediation planning, and stakeholder communication.
Mentor Solution Architects, Solution Consultants, and integration engineers on Cerner integration best practices, API management, and interoperability standards.
Engage clinical leadership, IT governance, and external vendors to validate integration designs, secure stakeholder buy-in, and manage vendor relationships.
Facilitate domain, issue, and change management strategies, ensuring alignment with Adventist Health’s enterprise architecture and security policies.
Support go-live and post-go-live phases, including cutover events, regression testing, and performance optimization of integration workflows.
Technical Skills:
Expert knowledge of Cerner Millennium’s integration engine, including Cerner Open Engine, Ignite APIs, and FSI (Foreign System Interface).
Experience with middleware platforms (e.g., Mirth, Rhapsody, Cloverleaf) and API management tools (e.g., Apigee, MuleSoft).
Advanced skills in DA2, Cerner Command Language (CCL), and Oracle/SQL for data transformation and validation.
Familiarity with cloud-based integration architectures, including Cerner Millennium+ and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
Experience
10–15 years of experience in healthcare IT integration, with at least 8 years focused on Cerner Millennium implementations and integrations.
Proven track record of leading large-scale integration projects across multi-facility health systems, including HIE, EHR-to-EHR, and third-party system integrations.
Extensive experience with Cerner modules (e.g., PowerChart, PharmNet, PathNet, RadNet, Revenue Cycle) and their integration with external systems (PACS, LIMS, Pyxis, Clairvia).
Demonstrated success in managing complex integration workflows, including real-time data exchange, batch processing, and high-availability environments.
Prior experience in client-facing roles, facilitating stakeholder workshops, and presenting to executive leadership.
Soft Skills:
Strategic thinker with the ability to align integration solutions with clinical, financial, and operational goals.
Exceptional leadership and mentorship skills to guide cross-functional teams and foster a culture of innovation.
Outstanding communication and facilitation skills, capable of translating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills to navigate relationships with clinical leaders, IT teams, and external vendors.
Proven ability to manage high-pressure situations, resolve conflicts, and drive consensus in complex, multidisciplinary settings.
