Role & Responsibilities

• Perform elective and emergency general surgical procedures (abdominal, hernia, soft-tissue, and related cases) with strict adherence to clinical protocols and surgical safety checklists.
• Conduct pre‑operative assessment and optimise patients for surgery; manage post‑operative care, complications, and follow‑up plans.
• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary care for complex cases, working closely with anaesthesia, critical care, oncology, and radiology teams.
• Supervise, mentor and provide clinical teaching for surgical trainees, junior doctors, and nursing/OR staff to maintain high standards of perioperative care.
• Participate in on‑call rotas and rapid response/trauma team activations to deliver timely emergency surgical interventions.
• Maintain accurate operative records, contribute to clinical audits, morbidity & mortality reviews and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
