JD For Sr, Engineer- Quality in a foam manufacturing company

Ensures product quality (density, firmness, resilience, cell structure) by developing control plans, performing root cause analysis on defects, and managing compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001/IATF 16949). They collaborate with production to implement APQP/PPAP, manage supplier quality, and reduce waste.

Key Responsibilities

• Quality Control & Assurance: Develop and maintain quality management systems (QMS), including inspection protocols for raw materials and finished foam products (e.g., Density, ILD/Hardness, tensile strength, tear resistance).
• Process Improvement: Utilize statistical process control (SPC) and improve product consistency.
• Root Cause Analysis: Lead investigations into defective products using tools like 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, and FMEA (Failure Mode Effects Analysis).
• Compliance & Auditing: Conduct internal audits and ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements and quality standards (e.g., IATF 16949).
• Supplier Management: Monitor supplier quality performance and address non-conformances.
• Documentation: Prepare technical reports, inspection plans, and quality metrics for management.
  
  

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial).
• Proven experience as a Quality Engineer, ideally in chemical, foam, or polymer manufacturing.
• Knowledge of foam molding, pouring.
• Proficiency in root cause analysis, and quality tools (FMEA, PPAP, APQP).
• Strong communication and collaborative skills to work with CFT teams.
