Job Description

An Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Supervisor is a key role involved in the oversight and management of electrical and instrumentation functions within industrial settings. This position requires a high level of expertise in managing E&I teams and projects to ensure they are completed on time and within safety and quality standards. The E&I Supervisor is responsible for planning, implementing, and supervising maintenance and installation tasks, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards. This role often involves regular collaboration with other departments, contractors, and engineers to optimize operational efficiency. A successful candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, problem-solving skills, and a thorough knowledge of electrical systems and instrumentation that are pivotal to efficient plant operations.


Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the E&I team effectively.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of all electrical and instrumentation equipment.
  • Ensure all E&I activities comply with safety standards and regulations continuously.
  • Collaborate with engineers and contractors to optimize plant operations through efficient E&I work.
  • Plan and implement preventive maintenance programs for electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Prepare and manage budgets for E&I projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness and resourcefulness.
  • Train team members on industry best practices and safety protocols regularly.
  • Review and approve technical reports and documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Lead troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts during equipment failures and breakdowns.
  • Monitor team performance and provide constructive feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate with procurement for timely acquisition of necessary E&I materials and tools.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all E&I work performed for audit and compliance purposes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in E&I supervisory roles or similar positions.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, instrumentation, and industrial processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team of technical personnel effectively.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical and instrumentation schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and capability to work under pressure and deadlines.
  • Outstanding communication skills to liaise with diverse teams and departments efficiently.
