Job Description

A Service Advisor is a critical role within the automotive industry, acting as a bridge between customers and the service department. This role involves ensuring that customers receive excellent service and support while their vehicles are being serviced or repaired. The Service Advisor is responsible for understanding customer needs, providing professional advice, and coordinating services within the automotive service center. Strong communication skills and a comprehensive understanding of vehicle maintenance are crucial in this position. Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Identify customer needs and document service requirements accurately.
  • Provide detailed and accurate service advice to customers.
  • Coordinate timely and efficient scheduling of service appointments.
  • Communicate effectively with technicians to discuss vehicle repairs.
  • Explain service recommendations, costs, and timelines to customers clearly.
  • Prepare and present service estimates and invoices for customer approval.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all customer interactions and transactions.
  • Ensure customer complaints and issues are resolved promptly and satisfactorily.
  • Follow up with customers to ensure their vehicle servicing needs are met.
  • Handle payment processing and ensure all financial transactions are accurate.
  • Promote additional products or services that would benefit the customer.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Service Advisor or in a related automotive role.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive services and vehicle maintenance procedures.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills required.
  • Ability to explain complex technical issues in a simple, understandable manner.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and automotive service software is required.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education is an asset.
