Job Description

A Purchase Executive in the construction sector plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth functioning of procurement processes and efficient supply chain management. This role involves collaborating closely with suppliers to negotiate contracts, securing the best prices for materials, and ensuring timely delivery to meet project deadlines. The Purchase Executive must also work in tandem with project managers and financial departments to ensure that purchases align with budgetary constraints and project specifications. As a vital component of the construction industry, the Purchase Executive ensures that all materials meet the necessary quality standards and adhere to any regulatory requirements. They play a key role in optimizing costs and enhancing profitability for the company by developing long-term relationships with reliable suppliers and employing strategic purchasing practices.


Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate suppliers by researching product and service quality standards.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with suppliers to minimize costs.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
  • Coordinate with project managers to forecast purchasing needs and align with project schedules.
  • Monitor and analyze purchasing activities to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Prepare purchase orders and ensure all documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Track deliveries and ensure all goods meet quality and delivery standards.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing, pricing, and inventory records for auditing purposes.
  • Collaborate with the financial department to manage budgets and financial reporting.
  • Implement cost-saving strategies and improvements in purchasing processes.
  • Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends and new suppliers.
  • Ensure all procurement activities adhere to legal and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Purchase Executive, preferably in the construction sector.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to forge beneficial relationships.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of construction materials and procurement processes is required.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail in evaluating supply contracts.
  • Proficiency in using procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with suppliers and team members.
