Job Description

As a Payroll Operations Associate, you will play a critical role in ensuring smooth and accurate payroll operations within the organization. You will be responsible for maintaining payroll records, processing employee salaries, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality. Working closely with HR and finance departments, you will contribute significantly to employee satisfaction by ensuring timely and precise compensation. Furthermore, you will assist in resolving payroll discrepancies, providing payroll reports and analysis, and implementing improvements in payroll processes for increased efficiency.


Responsibilities

  • Process and manage accurate payrolls for all employees on a semi-monthly basis.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and laws.
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records with confidentiality and attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with HR and finance to resolve any payroll-related issues or discrepancies.
  • Prepare and submit required payroll tax filings and payments to government entities.
  • Audit payroll-related reports for accuracy and make necessary adjustments proactively.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual payroll budgets and forecasts as required.
  • Provide support during internal and external payroll audits by gathering necessary documentation.
  • Develop and implement improvements to payroll processes to enhance efficiency and compliance.
  • Handle employees’ payroll inquiries and issues promptly and professionally.
  • Generate payroll reports and analytics to assist financial planning and analysis.
  • Participate in payroll system upgrades and integration projects to improve system performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
  • At least two years of experience in payroll processing and administration required.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state wage laws and tax regulations essential.
  • Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite are mandatory.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy are crucial.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to provide solutions.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
  • Effective communication skills to work with diverse teams across the organization.
