The Media Relations Coordinator is a pivotal role within our communications team, tasked with enhancing our organization's image and brand. This dynamic position requires a communication specialist capable of building and maintaining strong relationships with the media, crafting compelling press releases, and effectively managing media inquiries. The successful candidate will play an essential role in strategizing media plans, securing coverage, and monitoring media mentions to ensure our messages reach the intended audience. This involves collaborating with various departments to ensure brand consistency and effectively amplifying our initiatives across various platforms. The ideal candidate will possess excellent writing and communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective media relations strategies for enhanced brand visibility.
  • Draft and distribute press releases, media advisories, and briefing materials.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with journalists and media professionals.
  • Coordinate logistics for press conferences, media events, and interviews.
  • Monitor and analyze media coverage and report on the outcomes to stakeholders.
  • Prepare spokespersons with key messaging and media interview techniques.
  • Maintain an up-to-date media contacts database for proactive communication.
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to ensure brand consistency.
  • Respond promptly to media inquiries and draft appropriate responses.
  • Organize and manage media kits and online press resources for easy access.
  • Identify and leverage opportunities for positive media exposure and partnerships.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and utilize insights to guide media strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.
  • Proven experience in a media relations role within a corporate environment.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of media monitoring tools and experience in media analysis reporting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-departmental teams to achieve communication goals.
  • Familiarity with digital media strategies and social media platforms is advantageous.
