Job Description

As an Inventory Control Specialist, you will play a critical role in overseeing and maintaining an accurate inventory system for the organization. Your main focus will be on managing inventory levels and tracking shipments, purchases, and returns. You will have to ensure that all inventory practices adhere to company policies and procedures, optimizing the overall efficiency of the supply chain management process. This position requires keen attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments. You will also be responsible for generating reports and providing insights into inventory performance to aid in key decision-making processes.


Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels in the inventory system.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure inventory accuracy and integrity.
  • Coordinate and track all inventory movements including shipments and deliveries.
  • Collaborate with procurement to ensure timely reordering of low stock items.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical counts and system records.
  • Develop and implement efficient inventory management and control procedures.
  • Generate and analyze inventory reports to identify trends and forecast needs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies in inventory handling.
  • Manage inventory documentation, including purchase orders and delivery receipts.
  • Work closely with warehouse staff to maintain organized storage systems.
  • Provide support during inventory audits conducted by external assessors.
  • Assist in the development and training of new inventory management team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, or related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in inventory control or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management software and systems is essential.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Able to collaborate effectively and communicate with cross-functional teams.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet tight deadlines.
  • Prior experience with ERP systems is considered an asset for this role.
