Job Description

An Inventory Control Specialist is a key player in managing and maintaining a company's inventory levels to ensure that there is sufficient stock to meet customer demands without overstocking. The role involves overseeing all activities related to inventory management, including tracking inventory levels, managing supplier orders, and coordinating with different departments to forecast inventory needs. Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain current inventory levels, ensuring quantities are accurate.
  • Oversee the ordering and stocking process to meet inventory needs.
  • Prepare detailed inventory analysis reports for management's review.
  • Coordinate with purchasing to ensure timely stock replenishment.
  • Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Manage and supervise warehouse staff involved in inventory management.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve inventory discrepancies and variances.
  • Develop inventory control procedures to support business objectives.
  • Collaborate with IT to enhance inventory system tracking functionalities.
  • Assist in developing demand forecasts based on current and historical data.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on inventory management practices.
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure delivery schedules are on time and complete.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.
  • Minimum of two years experience in inventory control or similar role.
  • Proficient in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills to manage various workflows.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Ability to perform physical inventory counts and warehouse audits accurately.
