Job Description

The Housekeeping Supervisor plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and inviting environment for guests and staff alike. Reporting to the Housekeeping Manager, the supervisor ensures that the housekeeping team functions efficiently and effectively. This role requires a keen eye for detail to uphold high standards of cleanliness and sanitation across all areas of the establishment. With excellent organizational and leadership skills, the Housekeeping Supervisor coordinates with staff to ensure rooms and public areas are maintained in pristine condition. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry and possess a strong commitment to delivering exceptional service to guests.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the housekeeping department to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Conduct inspections of rooms and public areas to uphold cleanliness standards.
  • Train, supervise, and evaluate housekeeping staff to enhance performance and productivity.
  • Manage staff scheduling and shift assignments to ensure adequate coverage at all times.
  • Address guest inquiries and resolve any complaints regarding housekeeping services promptly.
  • Monitor inventory and order cleaning supplies to maintain sufficient stock levels.
  • Coordinate with other departments to facilitate seamless guest service and satisfaction.
  • Implement and monitor adherence to health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Prepare and present reports on housekeeping performance and operational challenges.
  • Ensure maintenance of housekeeping equipment and report issues for timely repair.
  • Lead team meetings to communicate objectives, policies, and standards effectively.
  • Assist in setting department goals to improve service delivery and efficiency.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in housekeeping, with supervisory experience a plus.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills for effective staff coordination.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with guests and staff professionally.
  • Ability to respond quickly and efficiently to guest inquiries and complaints.
  • Knowledge of housekeeping procedures and cleaning techniques to ensure standards.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations pertinent to housekeeping operations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and hotel management software desirable.
