Job Description

The Garments Accessories Purchase Executive plays a pivotal role in the fashion and apparel industry by overseeing the procurement of all accessory components required in garment production. This includes buttons, zippers, threads, labels, and various embellishments. The position demands keen attention to detail and an understanding of trends, materials, and the supply chain process to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness. Interaction with suppliers, negotiation skills, and the ability to manage relationships are crucial in maintaining seamless procurement operations. Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate new suppliers for garment accessory materials.
  • Negotiate terms and pricing with vendors to optimize cost-efficiency.
  • Coordinate with design teams to understand accessory requirements for new lines.
  • Ensure timely procurement to prevent production delays and maintain inventory levels.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
  • Review and manage purchase orders to confirm they are accurate and complete.
  • Conduct market research to identify innovative and sustainable accessory options.
  • Analyze supplier performance and address any issues related to quality or delivery.
  • Collaborate with the quality control team to maintain product specifications.
  • Track purchasing budgets and provide reports to management on a regular basis.
  • Resolve discrepancies and conflicts regarding invoice payments and product deliveries.
  • Provide support and insights during the seasonal planning and sourcing processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in purchasing within the fashion industry.
  • Strong negotiation skills and proven ability to handle supplier contracts.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools, such as SAP or Oracle.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and recommend strategic purchasing decisions.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple orders.
