Job Description

As a Dental Assistant at our dynamic dental practice, you will play an integral role in providing comprehensive oral care to our patients. Your primary duties will center around supporting our dental professionals in delivering top-notch dental services while ensuring patient comfort and satisfaction. Responsibilities

  • Prepare examination and treatment rooms by ensuring they are clean and adequately stocked.
  • Assist dentists during various dental procedures, ensuring efficiency and patient comfort.
  • Sterilize dental instruments and equipment to adhere to infection control protocols.
  • Maintain patient records by accurately recording treatment notes and dental charts.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments, managing patient flow throughout the clinic.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and post-procedure care instructions.
  • Take and develop dental x-rays as needed, following proper safety procedures.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality in compliance with all healthcare regulations.
  • Handle administrative duties such as answering phones and ordering dental supplies.
  • Assist with the preparation of laboratory work, including impressions and models.
  • Provide excellent patient service and care, addressing patient questions and concerns.
  • Support the dental team with periodic inventory checks and stock management duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a dental assistant program preferred.
  • Proven experience as a dental assistant, preferably in a high-volume practice.
  • Knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization techniques, and treatment procedures.
  • Proficiency in dental software and Microsoft Office Suite for record-keeping and scheduling.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for patient and team interactions.
  • Strong organizational ability to multitask and manage tasks efficiently in a busy environment.
  • Certification as a Dental Assistant (e.g., CDA) will be considered a plus.
