Video Editor (225-928)

We are seeking an experienced and creative Video Editor to join our dynamic media team. As a Video Editor, you will be responsible for assembling recorded footage into a finished project that is suitable for broadcasting. You should bring sight and sound together to tell a cohesive story and meet the needs of our projects. You will have a keen eye for detail and be able to transform raw footage into compelling videos for a variety of platforms, including social media, television, and web. This role requires a blend of technical skills, creativity, and a deep understanding of the storytelling process. The ideal candidate is deeply familiar with editing software, collaborative, meets deadlines, and pays close attention to the nuances of video production.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the creative team to understand video content requirements and objectives.
• Edit, manipulate, and assemble both raw and edited footage into a polished product.
• Ensure the logical sequencing and smooth running of video projects.
• Work with directors to visually interpret their script and storytelling intentions.
• Review shooting script and raw material to create a shot decision list.
• Insert music, dialogue, graphics, and effects as required for each project.
• Optimize videos for different platforms ensuring maximum viewer engagement.
• Stay updated on the latest editing technologies and industry trends.
• Create a consistent brand image and style across all video content.
• Script and storyboard videos as necessary to plan editing decisions.
• Maintain an organized library of digital video, audio, and graphic assets.
• Perform color corrections, audio syncing, and other technical tweaks to refine quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Film Studies, Cinematography, or a related field preferred.
• Proven experience as a Video Editor with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
• Proficiency in video editing software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro.
• Strong understanding of post-production techniques and media formats.
• Attention to detail and a critical eye for visual storytelling elements.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
