Job Description

The role of a Technical Project Manager is pivotal in bridging the technical and managerial aspects of a company's projects. They serve as the orchestrator who ensures projects run smoothly, efficiently, and meet the client's requirements while staying within budget and on schedule. A Technical Project Manager must be well-versed in the technical aspects of the projects they oversee, as well as possess strong leadership and communication skills to manage cross-functional teams. Typically, the role involves planning, executing, and closing projects, often requiring the management of budget allocation, schedule, resources, and project objectives. Additionally, the Technical Project Manager will have to stay updated with the latest technological trends and development methodologies to implement best practices in ongoing and future projects.


Responsibilities

  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables that support business goals.
  • Develop detailed project plans, ensuring resource availability and allocation.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for project execution.
  • Ensure all projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and budget.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques.
  • Manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs efficiently.
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks and issues.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to track project progression and resolve issues.
  • Liaise with clients and stakeholders to communicate progress and gather feedback.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation and reports.
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to project team members.
  • Facilitate communication among team members and stakeholders effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related technical field.
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in the Information Technology sector.
  • In-depth understanding of software development lifecycle and methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of project management tools and techniques such as Agile.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly desirable.
