Job Description

As a Strategic Buyer, you will be at the forefront of procurement activities, ensuring that the organization's buying strategies align with its business objectives. Your role is crucial in maintaining supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the procurement of quality goods at competitive prices. You will proactively assess market trends, identify potential suppliers, and forecast inventory demands. Your efforts will directly contribute to company efficiency and profitability, as well as assist in the management of supply chain risks. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans to achieve cost savings targets.
  • Conduct market research to identify and assess potential suppliers and products.
  • Negotiate and manage supplier contracts to ensure favorable terms and conditions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand procurement needs and align strategies.
  • Monitor and manage supplier performance through regular evaluations and audits.
  • Ensure continuous supply by forecasting future material requirements accurately.
  • Analyze purchasing trends to identify opportunities for cost reductions and efficiency improvements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, supply chain innovations, and new products.
  • Manage supplier relationships to foster long-term strategic partnerships.
  • Develop risk management strategies to mitigate disruptions in the supply chain.
  • Report on procurement performance against set goals and benchmarks regularly.
  • Coordinate with logistics to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of five years experience in procurement or strategic sourcing roles.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a proven record of achieving cost savings.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Strong communication skills for coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
