Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Strategic Buyer to join our procurement team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of suppliers to ensure the consistent supply of materials and services required for our operations. As a Strategic Buyer, you will analyze market trends, negotiate contracts, and develop strategies to streamline purchasing processes, reduce costs, and improve supplier performance. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies to meet business goals.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and assess their viability.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and resolve any issues promptly.
  • Analyze supplier performance and take corrective measures when necessary.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to forecast demand and synchronize procurement planning.
  • Initiate and lead cost-reduction opportunities without compromising on quality.
  • Evaluate and monitor key suppliers to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Prepare purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Keep abreast of market changes and adjust sourcing strategies accordingly.
  • Report on key procurement metrics to senior management regularly.
  • Develop long-term supplier relationships to support business continuity and innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or strategic buying roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate contracts and manage supplier relationships effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret market trends and supplier performance data.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively under tight deadlines.
