Job Description

The Store Keeper plays a critical role in inventory management and warehouse operations within an organization. This position is vital for ensuring the safekeeping, accurate recording, and timely distribution of goods, supplies, and equipment needed for daily operations. The Store Keeper is responsible for maintaining an organized and efficient operation by monitoring inventory levels, overseeing the receiving, and dispatching of items, and keeping detailed records of all transactions. As a keeper of stock, you will work closely with procurement and logistics teams, and ensure compliance with policies, safety regulations, and established procedures. Your attention to detail and ability to maintain a systematic approach to storage and inventory control will be pivotal in supporting the company’s supply chain and operational efficiency.


Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain stock levels to ensure a constant supply of materials and items.
  • Receive, inspect, and verify the accuracy of goods received from suppliers.
  • Coordinate the dispatching and delivery of items to relevant departments or clients.
  • Maintain a clean and organized storeroom to facilitate efficient operations.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and report discrepancies to management.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations within the storage area.
  • Generate and maintain detailed records of incoming and outgoing goods and materials.
  • Liaise with procurement and logistic teams to manage the supply chain effectively.
  • Operate equipment for moving stock and conducting inventory checks safely.
  • Implement strategies to optimize storage space and inventory turnover rates.
  • Assist in preparing reports on inventory status for management review.
  • Train and supervise subordinate staff in proper inventory and storage procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent educational qualifications are required.
  • Previous experience in inventory management or warehouse operations preferred.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills are vital for this role.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding warehouse tasks.
