Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Staff Nurse to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). As a Staff Nurse in our NICU, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional healthcare to critically ill newborns and their families. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care, including monitoring patient conditions, administering medications, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of neonatal care practices and demonstrate empathy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure within a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities

  • Monitor vital signs and implement necessary interventions for NICU patients.
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established protocols.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to create effective care plans.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough patient records detailing care and procedures.
  • Observe and report changes in patients’ conditions to healthcare providers.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of family-centered care practices.
  • Educate and support parents and guardians about their newborn's condition and care.
  • Participate in continuous education and training to enhance professional skills.
  • Ensure infection control and safety procedures are strictly followed at all times.
  • Operate and monitor specialized NICU equipment, ensuring proper function.
  • Provide emotional support to families during stressful and challenging situations.
  • Coordinate with discharge planners to ensure a safe transition to home care.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with a current licensure in the state of practice.
  • Minimum of two years of nursing experience, preferably in a NICU setting.
  • Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) is highly preferred.
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge in neonatal care and nursing practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities are essential.
  • Ability to work effectively in high-pressure and fast-paced environments.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and family involvement in treatment plans.
