Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Staff Nurse to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team. As a Staff Nurse specializing in NICU, you will play a vital role in providing specialized nursing care to critically ill newborns. Your expertise will be instrumental in the stabilization, monitoring, and support of preterm and term neonates needing intensive care. You will collaborate closely with neonatologists, pediatricians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, family-centered care. Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill neonates in a NICU setting.
  • Monitor vital signs, assess symptoms, and observe changes in patient conditions.
  • Administer medications, therapeutic treatments, and specialized procedures for neonates.
  • Operate and maintain advanced medical and monitoring equipment specific to neonates.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to create and implement individualized care plans.
  • Educate and support families, addressing their concerns and needs compassionately.
  • Ensure accurate and thorough documentation of patient care activities in medical records.
  • Participate in daily rounds with the NICU team to review and modify care plans as needed.
  • Maintain strict adherence to infection control policies and procedures.
  • Engage in continuous learning and professional development within the neonatal nursing specialty.
  • Assist in effectively transitioning neonates to lower acuity levels within the NICU.
  • Advocate for the well-being and rights of neonates and their families in care planning.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) Licensure, with specialization in Neonatal Intensive Care.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution is required.
  • Minimum of two years of clinical experience in a NICU or similar environment.
  • Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • Demonstrated ability to operate complex medical equipment relevant to NICU care.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with families and medical staff.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care at all times.
