Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Staff Nurse for our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional care to our neonatal patients, collaborating with a team of skilled professionals to ensure the best outcomes. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with infants, monitoring their health, administering care, and supporting their families during what can be a challenging time. Your excellent communication skills, coupled with your ability to work well under pressure, will be crucial in delivering high-quality nursing care to this sensitive patient group.


Responsibilities

  • Monitor the vital signs and medical status of newborns in the NICU.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the attending physician.
  • Operate and manage specialized medical equipment used in neonatal care.
  • Provide attentive care to premature and critically ill newborns around the clock.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation for assessments.
  • Assist in developing individualized care plans tailored to neonates' needs.
  • Educate and support parents in understanding their infant's care and progress.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Ensure the NICU environment is clean, organized, and safe for patient care.
  • Participate in continuous professional development and staff training sessions.
  • Respond swiftly and effectively during neonatal emergencies and critical situations.
  • Foster a compassionate and supportive atmosphere for families within the NICU.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or an equivalent qualification from an accredited institution.
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment is mandatory.
  • Minimum of two years of experience working in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
  • Demonstrable ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress medical environment.
  • Exceptional critical thinking skills and attention to detail in patient care.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills for family and team interaction.
