Job Description

As a Restaurant Cashier, you will play a crucial role in the overall customer experience at our dining establishment. You are the first point of contact for customers and will be responsible for managing transactions efficiently and accurately. Your outgoing and friendly demeanor will create a welcoming environment for our clients. In addition to handling cash, you will be tasked with overseeing the cleanliness of the cash register area, assisting in the customer dining area when necessary, and contributing to an effective operation of daily restaurant activities. This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to balance friendly customer service with the responsibilities of handling cash and executing accurate financial transactions. Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and provide an excellent customer service experience.
  • Accurately handle and process cash, credit, and other transaction types.
  • Maintain and reconcile cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts.
  • Assist customers with menu selections and provide information on specials.
  • Answer customer inquiries and resolve complaints effectively and promptly.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the cashier counter and dining area.
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient and timely order fulfilment.
  • Provide assistance to the serving staff during peak hours if needed.
  • Operate POS systems and manage receipt and cash handling processes.
  • Handle customer feedback and report any serious issues to management.
  • Monitor inventory levels of cash register supplies and request restocking.
  • Uphold the restaurant's standards of performance, including dress code and conduct.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification required.
  • Previous experience in a similar cashier or customer service role preferred.
  • Strong numerical skills and attention to detail for accurate transactions.
  • Excellent communication skills and a friendly, customer-oriented approach.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Basic knowledge of using POS systems and handling cash transactions.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
