Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Procurement Officer to join our dynamic team. As a Procurement Officer, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of the procurement process. Your role will be vital in ensuring that the company has access to the most cost-effective, high-quality products and services needed to maintain optimal operations. You will be expected to build and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and assess bids to make sound purchasing decisions that align with company objectives. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies for procuring, storing, and distributing goods and services.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and deadlines with suppliers and vendors.
  • Ensure the timely and safe delivery of products and services.
  • Evaluate the quality and cost-effectiveness of products and materials.
  • Maintain and update supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, and product ranges.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the logistics team for timely restocking.
  • Analyze market trends to anticipate product needs and shifts in demand.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders and requisitions for products and services.
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues that may arise with suppliers.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the procurement process.
  • Conduct regular supplier evaluations to ensure continued alignment with organizational goals.
  • Compile and present procurement reports and analyses to senior management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a procurement officer or in a similar position is required.
  • Strong negotiation skills to effectively manage supplier relationships and contracts.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for cross-department coordination.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Detailed understanding of supply chain management and logistics principles.
  • Ability to analyze market conditions and obtain the best value for resources.
