A Plumbing and Fire Draughtsman plays a critical role in construction and engineering projects by developing detailed technical drawings and plans for plumbing and fire protection systems. Responsibilities

• Develop detailed technical drawings for plumbing and fire protection systems using CAD software.
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to understand project specifications and requirements.
• Ensure all drawings comply with relevant building codes, safety standards, and regulations.
• Revise and update drawings as necessary, incorporating feedback from stakeholders and changes in project scope.
• Participate in project meetings to provide technical expertise and support for plumbing and fire system designs.
• Conduct site visits when necessary to collect data and ensure designs can be applied practically.
• Maintain and archive all project drawings and related documentation in an organized manner.
• Calculate and specify the dimensions, materials, and processes needed for system installations.
• Coordinate with other architectural and engineering departments to ensure comprehensive project integration.
• Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies in plumbing and fire safety to incorporate in designs.
• Support the lead engineers in finalizing layouts and resolving any design-related issues.
• Train and mentor junior draughtsmen in industry standards, design techniques, and software use.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Engineering, Drafting, or related field is required.
• Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD, and other design tools.
• At least 3 years of experience in plumbing and fire draughtsmanship is preferred.
• Strong understanding of plumbing and fire system components and installation processes.
• Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and safety standards is essential.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce highly accurate technical drawings.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work well within a team environment.
