Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Optometrist to join our dynamic eye care team. As an Optometrist, you will be responsible for examining patients' eyes, diagnosing vision problems, and prescribing corrective lenses or treatments. You will engage with a diverse patient base, providing comprehensive eye care and demonstrating outstanding patient service skills. In this role, you will collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best outcomes for our patients. Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough eye examinations and utilize diagnostic tests and tools.
  • Diagnose sight problems, such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, and eye diseases.
  • Prescribe corrective lenses, contact lenses, and eye exercises to treat vision issues.
  • Advise patients on proper eyewear usage, contact lens care, and eye health maintenance.
  • Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals for patient referrals.
  • Stay updated with advances in optometry and participate in continuing education courses.
  • Maintain patient records meticulously and adhere to treatment protocol documentation.
  • Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries.
  • Offer counseling for patients on vision therapy and preventive eye care techniques.
  • Interpret vision insurance benefits and handle insurance documentation as required.
  • Engage in community outreach to educate the public on vision health and safety.
  • Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the improvement of clinical operations.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry school required.
  • Current optometrist license in the state of practice is mandatory.
  • Professional experience in a clinical setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of eye care disorders, treatments, and technical skills in optometry.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and staff.
  • Proficiency in using various optometry diagnostic tools and software programs.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to make sound clinical judgments quickly.
