We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Coder to join our healthcare organization. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of medical terminologies, coding systems, and the meticulous ability to translate healthcare diagnoses, procedures, and medical services into universal medical alphanumeric codes. This position is crucial to ensuring accurate billing and streamlined healthcare service records. The Medical Coder will work collaboratively with healthcare providers, billing staff, and insurance companies to facilitate timely reimbursement, maintain accurate patient records, and uphold confidentiality and compliance with all medical standards and regulations. Responsibilities

• Accurately translate complex medical diagnoses and procedures into standardized codes.
• Ensure all coded data adheres to current medical coding guidelines and standards.
• Review and analyze patient medical charts for accurate documentation and coding.
• Coordinate with healthcare professionals to resolve any coding discrepancies or questions.
• Maintain updated knowledge of coding systems such as ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS.
• Conduct regular audits to guarantee accurate coding and billing processes.
• Liaise with billing departments to ensure timely and accurate claim submissions.
• Stay informed on changes in insurance and government regulations affecting coding practices.
• Provide coding support in the development and implementation of new system processes.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local medical coding policies and regulations.
• Assist in training new staff members on best coding practices and procedures.
• Document coding processes and keep detailed records of work performed.

Requirements

• Possession of a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification is preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in medical coding within a healthcare setting.
• Proficient in using coding management systems such as ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS.
• Strong analytic skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills to work effectively with medical staff and billing departments.
• Ability to handle sensitive information while maintaining high confidentiality standards.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
