Job Description

The Junior Buyer is an integral part of the purchasing and procurement team, working to assist in acquiring goods and services at competitive prices. This role involves supporting senior buyers in their tasks, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring the timely delivery of quality products. The ideal candidate will possess a keen attention to detail, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with vendors and internal departments. They should be eager to learn about supply chain management and procurement processes. The Junior Buyer will work closely with various departments to understand their purchasing needs and ensure that the acquisition process is executed flawlessly.


Responsibilities

  • Assist senior buyers in the development and execution of procurement strategies.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential new suppliers and price trends.
  • Maintain and update supplier information and purchasing records in databases.
  • Communicate with suppliers to obtain quotes, negotiate prices, and confirm terms.
  • Track orders and ensure that purchased items are delivered timely and accurately.
  • Assist in resolving any issues related to shipping or invoice discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to process payments and manage budgets.
  • Support inventory management initiatives to optimize stock levels and turnover.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement standards at all times.
  • Prepare reports and present analyses on procurement activities to management.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects within the procurement department.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to streamline the procurement process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, supply chain, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a purchasing or procurement role is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong ability to follow processes and procedures.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Keen interest in supply chain management and procurement best practices.
  • Team player mentality with a proactive attitude and problem-solving skills.
