Job Description

The Hotel Receptionist is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring guests have an exceptional experience from the moment they step into the hotel. The ideal candidate will possess a friendly and welcoming demeanor, providing guests with a warm greeting and seamless check-in and check-out processes. As the front-line representative of the hotel, the receptionist plays a crucial role in creating a positive first impression. The Hotel Receptionist must be highly organized, able to manage multiple tasks under pressure, and possess excellent communication skills to interact with guests from diverse backgrounds. Through their knowledge, efficiency, and dedication, the receptionist will ensure that guests' needs are met and that their stay is both enjoyable and memorable.


Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests warmly and assist with the check-in process efficiently.
  • Manage guest inquiries and provide accurate information about the hotel amenities.
  • Answer phone calls promptly and direct calls to the appropriate department.
  • Coordinate with housekeeping to ensure rooms are ready for guest arrivals.
  • Handle guest complaints or issues with empathy and professionalism.
  • Process guest check-outs and prepare final bills with accuracy.
  • Maintain a neat and organized front desk environment at all times.
  • Assist guests with booking reservations and making necessary adjustments.
  • Provide guests with local directions and recommendations for nearby attractions.
  • Ensure guest information is entered correctly and securely into the system.
  • Collaborate with other departments to fulfill guest requests diligently.
  • Keep updated with current hotel promotions and events to inform guests.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional hospitality training is preferred.
  • Minimum of one year experience in customer service or front desk roles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle conflicts diplomatically.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
