Job Description

The F&B Assistant is a vital role within the hospitality industry, primarily responsible for assisting in the efficient and professional service of food and beverages to guests. This position is often seen in hotels, restaurants, or catering services. The F&B Assistant must have a keen attention to detail and a passion for providing exemplary guest experiences. They work closely with the F&B Manager and team to ensure that all dining operations run smoothly and efficiently. From setting up dining areas to ensuring the quality and timeliness of service, the F&B Assistant supports the seamless operation of the food and beverage offerings that form a core part of the hospitality experience.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in the setup and preparation of dining areas before service begins.
  • Welcome and greet guests with professional and friendly service upon arrival.
  • Take food and beverage orders from guests ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Deliver food and beverages to guests promptly and ensuring quality standards.
  • Clear and clean tables promptly once guests have finished dining to maintain a tidy environment.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure orders are accurate and delivered timely.
  • Maintain high levels of hygiene and cleanliness in the dining and service areas.
  • Assist in inventory checks and stock management to ensure adequate supplies.
  • Respond to guest inquiries and resolve service complaints with professionalism.
  • Support bar staff and ensure compliance with licensing regulations and policies.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance service skills.
  • Assist in preparing and serving for special events or private dining services.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality-related education is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a similar food and beverage service role is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent customer service orientation and attention to detail.
  • Basic math skills for handling cash and managing bills accurately.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and carry lightweight tables and trays.
