Job Description

An Estimation Engineer plays a pivotal role in the planning and development stages of construction projects. This role involves analyzing project specifications, collaborating with project managers and engineers, and delivering actionable budgetary assessments and cost estimates essential for project completion. As an Estimation Engineer, you will draw upon your engineering knowledge and strong analytical skills to evaluate data, anticipate potential challenges, and propose solutions that optimize resource allocation and project timelines. Success in this role requires meticulous attention to detail, adept communication skills, and the ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers and contractors to achieve competitive pricing structures. The Estimation Engineer is a key contributor to ensuring that projects are completed within the budget and meet quality standards, underpinning the financial viability and success of engineering and construction initiatives.


Responsibilities

  • Analyze project specifications and requirements to develop comprehensive cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to align estimates with project objectives.
  • Prepare detailed cost reports and present findings to stakeholders for review.
  • Conduct risk analysis to identify potential project cost fluctuations and challenges.
  • Negotiate with contractors and suppliers to secure favorable pricing and terms.
  • Ensure all estimates comply with company policies and industry standards.
  • Update and maintain records of estimates, proposals, and contracts systematically.
  • Provide input for preparing budgets and financial forecasts during project planning.
  • Review and analyze historical data to improve future project estimations.
  • Assist with bidding processes, including preparing and reviewing tender documents.
  • Monitor project costs and provide regular updates to the senior management team.
  • Ensure effective communication across all teams to implement project optimizations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in estimation or a related engineering role.
  • Proficient in using industry-standard estimation software and tools.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills for data interpretation and cost analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for team collaboration.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic work environment.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all cost estimates provided.
