Job Description

As a Cost Controller in our dynamic and growing organization, you will be tasked with managing and reducing the company’s operational costs while ensuring these remain within budget. Your strategic insight into financial forecasting and new methods of cost reduction will be pivotal in improving our bottom line without compromising on service efficiency or quality. You will closely collaborate with various departments to analyze costs, prepare budgets, and implement effective cost control measures. Your role will be crucial in ensuring our financial health and sustainability by maintaining a balance between cost efficiency and operational excellence. As an integral part of our finance team, your analytical skills and attention to detail will drive sustainable financial decision-making and empower our growth strategy by ensuring the company leverages its resources efficiently.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to manage and reduce operating costs effectively.
  • Analyze financial data to uncover insights that support organizational decision-making.
  • Collaborate with department heads to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies.
  • Prepare comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports on cost control measures.
  • Monitor actual expenditures against the company's budgeting and forecasting figures regularly.
  • Provide advice and consultation on cost allocation and financial planning strategies.
  • Review and assess current procurement systems to optimize cost efficiency.
  • Manage and review cost estimating tools and techniques to improve accuracy.
  • Offer training and support to departmental teams on budgetary control processes.
  • Stay informed about industry trends to introduce cost control best practices and innovations.
  • Evaluate the financial implications of new projects and operational changes.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits to ensure accuracy and compliance in cost controlling.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Cost Controller with a minimum of three years post-qualification.
  • Strong analytical skills and a meticulous eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in financial management software and advanced Excel capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset for efficient decision-making.
  • Professional certification such as CMA or CPA is considered an asset.
