Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager for our Maintenance department. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation of our facilities and equipment by leading a team of skilled maintenance technicians. This role is critical in maintaining the quality and safety of our operations, with a strong emphasis on preventative maintenance and quick resolution of any emergencies. The Assistant Manager will report to the Maintenance Manager and will assist in planning, scheduling, and executing maintenance activities while maximizing equipment uptime and minimizing downtime. This position requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and a deep understanding of mechanical and electrical systems. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement routine maintenance schedules for all facility equipment.
  • Assist in managing the maintenance team, providing leadership and guidance daily.
  • Coordinate with other departments to incorporate efficient maintenance processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and related documentation.
  • Oversee repair, installation, and maintenance tasks to ensure standards and procedures are followed.
  • Assist in budget preparation and monitoring for the maintenance department.
  • Investigate equipment breakdowns and recommend solutions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Liaise with external contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective service delivery.
  • Train and develop maintenance staff to enhance their skill sets and performance levels.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the efficiency of maintenance operations.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports to the Maintenance Manager on the department's performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a maintenance supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance management and predictive maintenance technologies.
  • Proven ability to manage and lead a team of maintenance professionals effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is essential.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with attention to detail.
