Job Description

The Assistant IT Project Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of IT projects by working closely with project managers and other team members. This position involves managing various aspects of project execution, including planning, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring project activities. The Assistant IT Project Manager supports project management processes, prepares project documentation, and provides administrative support such as scheduling meetings and updating project plans. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of project management methodologies, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This role requires effective communication with stakeholders and team members to ensure alignment with project goals and objectives.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing detailed project plans and timelines for IT projects.
  • Coordinate and monitor day-to-day project activities and team tasks.
  • Support project managers in managing project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Prepare project status reports and maintain project documentation for stakeholders.
  • Schedule and facilitate project meetings, capturing notes and next steps.
  • Ensure all project objectives and deliverables are met within established timelines.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Assist with the allocation and management of project resources effectively.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support to the project management team.
  • Communicate project updates and changes to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Use project management tools to track and report project progress and performance.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure project alignment with business goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in project management or project support roles in IT.
  • Strong understanding of project management tools and software applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience with Agile and other project management methodologies is preferred.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Attention to detail and the capability to deliver high-quality work consistently.
