Job Description

An Accounts Executive plays a pivotal role in managing the financial health of an organization. This professional is responsible for administering accounting policies, ensuring accounting integrity, and contributing to financial planning and analysis. The position requires a meticulous individual who can work comfortably with numbers and have a keen eye for detail. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and have experience in budget management, financial reporting, and audit processes. The role often involves communicating financial insights to senior management, playing a crucial part in the strategic decision-making process. The Accounts Executive is expected to keep abreast of relevant accounting laws and regulations, ensuring compliance and maintaining transparency in all financial dealings.


Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of the accounting department including account payables and receivables.
  • Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports.
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
  • Coordinate and complete annual audits, providing financial analysis and guidance.
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
  • Conduct financial forecasting, budgeting and reporting activities for various departments.
  • Set up and maintain internal systems and controls to ensure data integrity.
  • Oversee the preparation of periodic reconciliations of balance sheets and departmental accounts.
  • Handle tax filings and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local corporate tax regulations.
  • Advise management on short-term and long-term financial objectives, policies, and actions.
  • Evaluate, develop, and recommend office procedures and practices to maximize resource utilization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an accounting or finance role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, laws, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, such as SAP, QuickBooks, or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to convey financial insights clearly.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Professional certification such as CPA or CMA is a plus.
