The Manager Retail Buying is a critical role responsible for overseeing the purchasing and merchandise planning activities within a retail organization. This position requires a strategic thinker with the ability to analyze market trends, negotiate with suppliers, and make informed buying decisions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in retail buying and merchandising, with strong leadership skills to manage a team of buyers. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with merchandising teams to ensure cohesive product presentations.
  • Monitor inventory levels to prevent overstocking or stockouts in stores.
  • Review and approve purchase orders to ensure alignment with budgeting guidelines.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Stay updated with industry trends to maintain a competitive edge in the market.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team performance.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and manage employee progression.
  • Prepare reports on buying operations and present them to senior management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in retail buying or merchandising management required.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills and experience dealing with suppliers and vendors.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in interpreting sales data for decisions.
  • Leadership capabilities with a track record of managing teams effectively.
