Job Description

The Payroll Executive is a critical role within the Human Resources department, ensuring that all aspects of the payroll function are effectively managed. This position is responsible for processing payroll accurately and on time for the organization, requiring meticulous attention to detail and a thorough understanding of payroll legislation and company policies. As the Payroll Executive, you will serve as the point of contact for payroll queries, manage employee records, and ensure compliance with tax regulations. Your role will also involve coordinating with finance and HR teams to streamline processes and implement improvements. Success in this role depends on strong analytical skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and a proactive attitude.


Responsibilities

  • Process payroll accurately and timely to ensure employees are paid on schedule.
  • Maintain and update payroll database with employee information and salary details.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal payroll tax regulations.
  • Address and resolve any payroll discrepancies and answer employee payroll queries.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to prepare payroll reports and assist with audits.
  • Coordinate with HR to manage employee benefits and deductions accurately.
  • Review time sheets, wage computation, and other information for accuracy.
  • Support management in monitoring and maintaining payroll budgets and forecasts.
  • Investigate and resolve complex payroll queries from employees and management.
  • Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures in line with best practices.
  • Recommend improvements or changes to existing payroll processes and systems.
  • Ensure confidentiality and security of payroll records and related information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in payroll processing and administration.
  • Proficiency in payroll software, particularly those used in large organizations.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll legislation and tax regulations is essential.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive payroll information.
