Job Description

A merchandiser plays a pivotal role in ensuring a retail environment is stocked with the appropriate products to meet customer needs and drive sales. Their primary goal is to optimize sales and profitability by implementing well-thought-out merchandising strategies. Merchandisers analyze market trends, review sales data, and understand customer preferences to identify the right products and quantities to order. Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular store visits to monitor product presentation and pricing adherence.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to align merchandising efforts with sales objectives.
  • Utilize merchandising software tools to plan and analyze product placement and analytics.
  • Forge strong relationships with retailers to facilitate effective product distribution.
  • Train store staff on merchandising standards and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Monitor competitor actions and market shifts to adapt merchandising approaches accordingly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • Proven experience in merchandising, purchasing, or a related retail environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales and market data effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail for managing inventory.
  • Effective communication skills to negotiate and build relationships with suppliers.
  • Creativity in developing eye-catching and effective merchandising displays.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines.
