Job Description

As a Hospital Receptionist, you play a crucial role in creating a positive experience for patients, visitors, and healthcare professionals. You are often the first point of contact within the healthcare facility, responsible for providing an efficient and welcoming environment. Responsibilities

  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments, adapting to any changes and cancellations.
  • Maintain an organized and tidy reception area, adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Enter and update patient and visitor information accurately in the hospital's system.
  • Provide patients with necessary forms and documents, guiding them in the completion process.
  • Assist in the preparation and dissemination of hospital communications and information leaflets.
  • Facilitate communication between medical staff and patients, conveying messages accurately and promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and legal regulations regarding patient information and confidentiality.
  • Coordinate with various hospital departments to resolve patient inquiries and streamline processes.
  • Manage patient flow in the reception area, minimizing wait times and enhancing service delivery.
  • Support administrative tasks such as record-keeping, filing, and documentation as required.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a receptionist or similar role in a healthcare setting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a professional phone manner.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure.
  • Proficiency in using hospital software systems and basic office equipment.
  • Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail, ensuring accurate data entry and patient record management.
  • Flexible availability, potentially covering shifts during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
