Job Description

The role of a Store Keeper is crucial in ensuring that inventory is appropriately accounted for and managed within a retail or warehouse environment. As a Store Keeper, you will be primarily responsible for receiving, storing, and dispatching goods and products while keeping an accurate inventory record. You must maintain a clear and organized workspace, ensuring that all inventory is correctly logged in the inventory management system. Additionally, you are tasked with ensuring all processes comply with health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have excellent record-keeping abilities, strong attention to detail, and the capacity to perform physical tasks. This position involves collaboration with various departments to ensure the seamless flow of goods and to prevent any interruptions in inventory supply chains.


Responsibilities

  • Receive, check, and record incoming deliveries efficiently and accurately.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly warehouse environment to ensure efficient operations.
  • Organize and store inventory according to established guidelines and protocols.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to prevent discrepancies and manage stock levels.
  • Collaborate with purchasing teams to manage supply chains and stock demands.
  • Prepare and dispatch outgoing shipments with precise documentation and labeling.
  • Oversee the loading and unloading of goods to ensure proper handling.
  • Communicate with suppliers and transport companies for timely delivery coordination.
  • Implement and follow safety procedures to prevent workplace accidents and hazards.
  • Maintain accurate records using inventory management software and tools.
  • Resolve any inventory issues with proactive solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Participate actively in training and development initiatives for personal growth.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in logistics is an advantage.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a warehouse or retail environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy required.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving heavy items safely.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with suppliers and colleagues.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations within a warehousing context.
