Job Description

As a Quantity Surveyor, your expertise in managing all costs related to construction and civil engineering projects is paramount. Your role plays a crucial part in ensuring that projects are completed within their projected rates, safeguarding profitability without compromising on quality, and adhering to statutory building regulations. Responsibilities

  • Prepare cost estimates and budgets for construction projects accurately and timely.
  • Monitor and track project costs against budgets to maintain financial control.
  • Conduct risk and value management and cost control processes diligently.
  • Prepare and analyze project variations and contractual claims effectively.
  • Collaborate with project managers to review and negotiate construction contracts.
  • Advise on procurement strategies and sourcing methods to meet project needs.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all cost assessments.
  • Provide detailed financial reports to stakeholders, including forecasts and reconciliations.
  • Assist in preparing tender and contract documents for various projects.
  • Negotiate and establish agreements with suppliers and subcontractors smoothly.
  • Mentor junior staff and provide guidance on industry best practices.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of all financial and contractual project details.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar Quantity Surveyor role.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to manage large-scale data effectively.
  • Exceptional negotiation and interpersonal skills for supplier and client interactions.
  • Proficiency in relevant software such as AutoCAD, MS Office, and quantity surveying tools.
  • Strong attention to detail, coupled with a strategic approach to cost management.
