Job Description

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects. You will be tasked with ensuring that projects are completed within their projected budget, monitoring variations in the work and ensuring that expenditure is kept in line with budgets. You will be a vital part of the project from initial estimates, right through to finalizing complex plans and agreeing on final accounts. Your expertise will guide vital financial decisions and impact the successful completion of our construction undertakings. The role requires keen attention to detail, excellent maths skills, and an aptitude for digital tools to ensure effectiveness in managing costs efficiently.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed estimates and cost reports throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk analysis for potential projects.
  • Review architectural plans to control project costs and avoid overruns.
  • Manage subcontractor accounts and negotiate contractor orders and contracts.
  • Coordinate with project teams to provide accurate financial forecasts.
  • Prepare and assess tender documents and procurements using cost data.
  • Ensure compliance with construction industry standards and regulatory guidelines.
  • Monitor project progress and identify any variances from budget expectations.
  • Analyze and resolve any contractual disputes that arise during projects.
  • Liaise with clients and communicate effectively to provide updates on budgets.
  • Generate reports on financial standings to advise stakeholders and management.
  • Implement best practices for cost management and savings within projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or in a similar role.
  • Expertise in contract management, budgeting, and project management.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes and industry regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate effectively.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
