Job Description

The Purchase Executive plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient procurement of goods and services necessary for the smooth operation of a business. This professional is tasked with negotiating with vendors, maintaining solid relationships with suppliers, and ensuring the best prices are secured for the company's needs. A Purchase Executive must be adept at evaluating suppliers, securing quality products, and maintaining a robust supply chain that meets the organization's cost-efficiency goals. In addition to managing inventory levels and forecasting demand, this role involves coordination with various departments to align procurement needs with business objectives. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills, as well as experience in supply chain management and procurement processes.


Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and select suppliers based on price competitiveness and consistent reliability.
  • Conduct negotiations with vendors to secure advantageous terms and pricing structures.
  • Liaise with various departments to determine product specifications and delivery requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of all transactions, quotations, and supplier agreements.
  • Develop and implement strategic procurement plans to drive business cost-efficiency.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure optimal stocking without overordering or understocking.
  • Conduct periodic assessments of supply markets to anticipate pricing trends and availability.
  • Resolve supplier disputes and issues promptly to maintain uninterrupted supply chains.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and external regulations in all procurement processes.
  • Prepare regular reports detailing procurement expenditures and savings achieved.
  • Evaluate alternative purchase sources to maintain flexibility and supplier diversity.
  • Oversee the procurement budget, ensuring alignment with company financial objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Purchase Executive or in a similar procurement role.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain management and procurement methodologies.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to build robust supplier relationships.
  • Proficient in using procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Excellent analytical skills to assess suppliers and manage procurement budgets efficiently.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaborations.
  • A keen eye for detail to ensure contract accuracy and adherence to specifications.
