Job Description

As a Project Manager in the construction industry, you will play a vital role in planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This position requires that you are well versed in construction methodologies and procedures and able to coordinate a team of professionals of different disciplines to achieve the best results. Your overarching responsibility includes ensuring all project objectives are met and that the construction projects are delivered using a safety-first mindset. You must be capable of managing client expectations and maintaining fruitful and reliant client relationships throughout the course of the project. Your role includes handling any unforeseen obstacles and ensuring that the project adheres to all applicable standards and regulations, contributing to your professional growth and the success of your organization.


Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and implementation of construction projects from inception to completion.
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables to support business objectives.
  • Develop detailed project plans to monitor and track progress efficiently.
  • Manage changes to the project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification techniques.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Conduct project risk assessment and develop mitigation strategies to minimize risks.
  • Manage project resource allocation and ensure all personnel are appropriately assigned and utilized.
  • Compile reports on project status, risks, and progress to keep stakeholders informed.
  • Ensure all safety standards and construction regulations are adhered to throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Mentor and support junior staff to foster a collaborative team environment.
  • Conduct post-project reviews to authenticate project success and identify areas for improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven working experience in managing construction projects with a strong portfolio.
  • Proficient understanding of construction procedures, materials, and project management software.
  • Exceptional leadership and supervisory skills to guide a diverse team effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities to address challenges as they arise on projects.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with stakeholders, clients, and team members.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and transform it into actionable plan insights.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly advantageous for this role.
