Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook pizzas following specific recipes and customer instructions.
  • Maintain hygiene and sanitation standards within the kitchen at all times.
  • Monitor the quality of ingredients used in pizza preparation and inform management of any shortages.
  • Create new pizza recipes and specials to attract new and returning customers.
  • Ensure ovens and other kitchen equipment are cleaned and properly maintained.
  • Manage pizza inventory, including ordering ingredients when necessary.
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure accurate and timely preparation of orders.
  • Train new kitchen staff on pizza-making procedures and safety protocols.
  • Adjust cooking times and temperatures for special dietary requirements.
  • Handle customer feedback and complaints professionally and courteously.
  • Work collaboratively with the restaurant team to ensure excellent service delivery.
  • Maintain consistent portion sizes and food presentation standards for all pizzas.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Pizza Chef or similar culinary role in a restaurant.
  • Familiarity with professional kitchen equipment, including pizza ovens and dough mixers.
  • Strong understanding of food hygiene and sanitation regulations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple orders simultaneously.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills are essential in this role.
  • Creativity and passion for developing unique and innovative pizza recipes.
  • Excellent communication skills for effectively collaborating with the restaurant team.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Certification in culinary arts or other relevant food safety programs is advantageous.
