Responsibilities

  • Prepare pizza dough, sauces, and toppings according to established recipes and standards.
  • Monitor and maintain a clean and organized kitchen operation at all times.
  • Ensure high quality and consistency in taste and presentation of pizzas.
  • Manage inventory, order ingredients, and maintain stock levels efficiently.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to prepare and cook a variety of pizza dishes.
  • Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure safe food-handling practices.
  • Experiment with new recipes and adjust menu offerings as necessary.
  • Train and supervise junior kitchen staff and apprentices as needed.
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment used for pizza preparation safely.
  • Respond to customer queries and ensure their complete satisfaction with meals.
  • Implement and follow sanitation and health regulations in the kitchen.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a pizza chef or similar role in a restaurant setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of food preparation and baking techniques specific to pizza.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment effectively.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a flexible approach.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights.
  • Understanding of kitchen health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Culinary school diploma or equivalent qualification is an added advantage.
