Job Description

An Operations Manager in Logistics is crucial for the seamless execution of an organization's supply chain operations. This role demands an individual who can ensure the efficient and effective management of logistics processes, from sourcing materials to the delivery of finished goods. The operations manager will be responsible for maintaining optimal levels of inventory, negotiating contracts with suppliers and vendors, and overseeing order fulfillment and warehouse operations. Success in this position requires strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing market environment. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement logistics strategies to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
  • Oversee the entire order fulfillment process, from order receipt to delivery.
  • Manage inventory levels to ensure availability while minimizing excess stock.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers, vendors, and third-party logistics providers.
  • Coordinate with warehouse teams to ensure optimal storage and distribution processes.
  • Monitor and analyze logistics metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
  • Collaborate with the finance department to prepare and manage logistics budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with local, federal, and international regulations governing freight shipping.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and clients.
  • Implement and monitor health and safety standards within the logistics and warehouse operations.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide continuous training for logistics staff.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices to enhance logistics operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and motivate teams.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills with vendors and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and tools, such as WMS and ERP systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of local and international shipping regulations and legal requirements.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
